The Reading Room is one of the finest grand rooms of New York. Designed in the Jacobean style as part of the 1911 expansion, it recalls the drawing room of an English country home. The room, paneled in oak has a superb quatrefoil ceiling and a grand fireplace as a centerpiece. The Reading Room is adorned with a collection of prints which highlight the cities of New York and Brooklyn in the early 1800s.  Club members use the Reading Room for remote work during the day and for intimate lectures and receptions in the evening.
