Information to know when visiting the Down Town Association at 60 Pine Street

The Club frequently welcomes visitors to our Clubhouse from all over the world.  Guests are at the invitation of members and staff.  To maintain a consistent environment for our members we ask that all guests follow our house rules with regard to attire, electronic device usage, phone calls and manners.  Here is a list of our suggestions:

  • In general, business or business casual attire is requested.  Certain events may set a different attire standard.
  • Upon arrival check in at the Front Desk where our staff will direct you to the Cloak Room and event space.  For individual meetings with members you may be asked to wait in the Lobby for the member to escort you to the space.  You are free to walk to the Cloak Room and the Ladies' and Men's Lounges adjacent to the Lobby.  
  • Overcoats, winter hats, ball caps, and baggage are to be checked in the Cloak Room off the Lobby.
  • If you are bringing items for an event, please ask at the Front Desk for assistance on transporting them to the room.  Please do not leave items in the Lobby or outside the event space.  
  • Business papers should not be displayed or reviewed outside of an event room or private room without approval from the staff.  
  • There is no smoking in the building or outside the front door.
  • Use of electronic devices is limited to the telephone booths located in the Cloak Room and in the Stair Hall landings on each floor.  And you can use electronic devices within your event room according to the policy of your event.  
  • Service items such as glassware should not be carried to other rooms outside your event space.
  • We ask our members and their guests to treat our staff with respect as you would a friend or family member.

Note:  If you are a vendor making a large delivery to the Clubhouse, please email [email protected] or telephone us at 212-422-1982 to coordinate the date and time of delivery.  Large, bulky deliveries are made to the service entrance at 20 Cedar Street, down the stairs to access the large service elevator which goes to every floor.  

Upon Arrival at the Clubhouse

When you arrive at 60 Pine Street, you can press the door bell button located in between the two doors as they may be locked.  A staff person will let you inside. 



Upon entering the Clubhouse a staff person may greet you and direct you.  Or walk left to the Front Desk to ask for direction.  You may be directed to a waiting area to meet your member host or to the event room.  If you need to make a phone call while you wait, there are telephone booths in the Cloak Room.  

  • To the right of the lobby there is a Cloak Room to store your outerwear and items you are carrying.  We kindly ask you not to wear outerwear or carry items around the Clubhouse. 
  • The Ladies' Lounge is accessed from the Lobby.   The Men's Lounge is accessed from the Cloak Room. 
  • Guests are asked to be accompanied by a member once outside the Lobby and Cloak Room areas. 


Directions

Our Clubhouse is located at 60 Pine Street which is one block north of Wall Street and just east of William Street.  Look for our flag hanging above the front door.  The flag may be white or blue and contains the DTA script logo.  (See image above)
The nearest subways stations are the 4/5 Wall Street and the 2/3 Wall Street (rear exit to William/Pine Streets).  Also, along Water Street there is a public bus line, and taxi cabs can be hailed.  Private ride shares can be ordered to pick up and drop off at 60 Pine Street.
